Frequently Asked Questions

  • Crop availability is dependent of weather and crops which are ready to be picked will be clearly marked with signs. There is also a chart of what is available at the scale house to help you find the proper fields. Check our Facebook for Daily updates about what we are picking

  • We are open Thursday-Sunday however we do close for dangerous weather conditions or too much rain. Updates about operating status will be posted on our Facebook Page.

  • We do not require nor do we take reservations. The farm is open on a first-come first-serve basis.

  • For Strawberry Picking customers will need a Picking pass to enter the fields. These passes are $5 a person which you will pay as you enter the farm.

For all other crops we do not require any payment until we weigh what you picked.

  • We supply you with any equipment you would require to pick veggies however we encourage you to bring your own bags, knives, gloves and anything else you may want.

  • We offer wagons for heavy orders to help you get them out of the field. If you need additional help please see one of our friendly staff.

  • You may drive your personal vehicle out to the field if you choose. We ask that you drive safely and slowly and stick to the main farm road which is paved.

  • When you are picking make sure to wear comfortable clothing and farm appropriate shoes. Bring a hat/wear sunscreen and otherwise be prepared to be outside in the weather for the duration of your stay. If it has rained recently you may consider bringing boots or an additional pair of shoes.

  • Most crops can simply be plucked from the plant without any knives or other equipment. If you do not know how to pick something, ask one of our staff they will be more than happy to help you. You can always identify them by the signature Specca Farms Shirt/Apparel.

  • Each Crop will be clearly marked with a sign on the Main Road. Once you are in the field, it is a good idea to walk a good amount into the field before you start picking. Picking is almost always better the further into the field you venture.

  • We do have a few Farm Animals if you would like to see them. We have a small flock of Baby-doll sheep and a Llama which can be seen in their pen or roaming the farm on Sundays (they get a treat and get let out on Sundays!) We also have chickens and a few farm cats. All our animals are friendly and love getting their picture taken but they don’t love being approached or petted. Please feel free to say Hi from a distance.

  • No Outside Pets are allowed on the Farm.

  • If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out. Our contact information is at the bottom of the page. You can also reach out on Facebook or call the farm number for additional questions.
